The Casper test for AGPT costs AUD $190 per sitting in Australia. The fee is paid to Acuity Insights at the time of booking and is non-refundable. You are permitted only one attempt per calendar year, so if you need to resit you pay the fee again the following year. There are currently no fee waivers or sliding-scale options for Australian candidates.

You book the Casper test for AGPT through your Acuity Insights account once your RACGP eligibility is confirmed. The 2026 test dates are: March 22 and 25 (booking closed); May 24, 27, and 30 (booking window: 13–20 May); August 22 and 26 (booking window: 12–19 Aug). Approximately 2,400 candidates apply for GP training in Australia each year. Around 1,500 RACGP AGPT places and 250 ACRRM places are available, meaning roughly 900 candidates miss out each cycle. Competition has increased significantly since 2023, making strong SJT preparation more critical than ever.

RACGP (Royal Australian College of General Practitioners) offers a 3-year training program in metro or rural settings, with approximately 1,350 AGPT places per year. ACRRM (Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine) offers a 4-year program in rural settings only (MM2–7), with approximately 150 AGPT places and 100 RGTS places. The critical difference: Q4 shows empathy rather than just telling the rater you are empathetic.

Yes, significantly. Candidates typing under 55 WPM are at a serious disadvantage because they cannot develop nuanced, empathetic responses in the time allowed. Candidates typing over 80 WPM gain extra thinking time to craft more thoughtful answers. Note that speech-to-text and dictation tools are not permitted in the typed section of the test.
